3. I need to be fingerprinted. Where can I go to get that done?

Fingerprints can be obtained at the Louisa County Sheriff's Office for $5 per card, between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Exceptions will only be made for Sex Offender Registrants.

4. I'm a sex offender and I need to update my information. How do I do that?

For all other updates, you will need to either go to the Virginia State Police Area Office located at 3707 Cross County Road or come to the Louisa County Sheriff's Office. To update your email address and screen name, you can contact the Sheriff's Office.

5. I need to speak to the Magistrate. How do I do this?

We have 24-hour access with the Magistrate. On various days throughout the week, the Magistrate is here at the Louisa County Sheriff's Office. When the Magistrate is out, we can talk to other Magistrates via satellite. If you would like to speak to the Magistrate before coming to the Louisa County Sheriff's Office, contact 540-967-3493 for the Louisa Office or 540-672-1087 for the Orange Office.

6. I got a Driving under the influence (DUI) charge and the officer said that I would get my license back after my suspension period was up. Where do I go to get my license?

Once a driver's license is confiscated for a DUI, it gets turned into the General District Court along with the copy of the Administrative License Suspension that was issued to you. When the term marked on the Administrative License Suspension is complied with, the General District Court will either mail your driver's license to the address listed on the license or hold it until you come to the General District Court to retrieve it, whichever you chose during your arrest. If you do not receive your driver's license within 5 business days of the expiration of the Administrative License Suspension, please contact 540-967-5330.

7. How do I report a Crimesolver's tip?

You can also report information for any suspicious activity to the Louisa County Crime Solvers without ever having to give your name. To do so, you can either dial 540-967-1202 or toll free 800-346-1466. If your information leads to an arrest, you could receive up to $1000 for your help.

8. How do I have my address flagged with pertinent information needed in the event an emergency?

If you have a family member with special needs such as being deaf, blind, bed ridden, etc., you may put in a request to have the address of the family member flagged so we can alert responding personnel. To place a request contact Tonya Hovey.
